Independent venture capital ANRI (Minato-ku, Tokyo: Representative Partner Anri Samata, hereafter referred to as ANRI) supports basic science research in Japan by implementing the “Unsolved Knowledge ~The ANRI Fellowship~” grant-type grant program for students working on basic research fields that take time to put into practical use, such as mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. We are pleased to announce that we have recognized 15 students in the 8th batch who are working on research in Japan and the world.

Since 2019, ANRI has been operating a grant-type grant program for students engaged in basic science research, with the aim of contributing to the development of science and technology in Japan.
In addition to the Internet field, which has been our strength since our founding, ANRI invests in R&D startups in solid technology fields such as deep tech and life sciences, and supports the creation of Japanese research technology into the world.
Currently, a total of 89 researchers from the 1st to 8th batch have been selected for The ANRI Fellowship, and are working hard to expand the community that ANRI excels at. We hold research presentations each term, community management using Slack, and community events that bring together researchers from different fields and ages.
We will strive to operate in a way that allows researchers to have horizontal and diagonal contact with each other, and value “unresolved knowledge ~The ANRI Fellowship~” as we aim to be suitable for the development of science and technology in Japan.

8th generation students’ “unsolved knowledge”

“Unsolved Knowledge ~The ANRI Fellowship~” Project Owner Comments
The 8th season has been rebranded as “Unsolved Knowledge.” Once again this year, we have brought together 15 wonderful and fascinating researchers as award winners and 15 unsolved knowledge that we want to solve. We would also like to thank you for receiving so many attractive applications that it was difficult to make a selection.
Is that why we support basic research? That’s because there are great researchers and research here. I would be very happy if I could not only enjoy this fun within my circle, but also spread the word as widely as possible.
