Grinding Gear Games has announced that it will begin distributing an update for “Path of Exile” developed by Microsoft from 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026. In this update, we will start a new league “Mirage”, make a large-scale overhaul of the end game, and implement more than 40 types of “Exceptional Support Gems”.
●New league “Mirage” started. Introducing a new system to copy and alter maps
●End game renewal. Atlas redesign, Void Stone specification changes, end game boss addition, etc.
●Implemented over 40 types of “Exceptional Support Gems”. The conventional system has also been changed to a new shape.
– New Holy Skills, new Scion Ascendancy, Keepers core and various comfort improvements implemented
■Release Jin from the Astral Realm. New Mirage League
Confront the necromancer group Afald who lives in the desert. They have captured and imprisoned Djinn throughout Raycrust.
The player encounters Jin, who is being held prisoner and protected by Afarud’s Warlock. Upon defeating these enemies, Varashta, the sorceress of ancient Marakeh, learns the mirage The Astral Realm and breaks the tethers that bind the captive djinn.
These mirages are not the last partial illusions. It copies much of the content and enhancements that have been applied to the map, and makes powerful new ways for players to double down on enhanced encounters and rewards.
Get lots of Mirage with Wishes
Before entering the Mirage, Varashta offers you the option to choose one of three Wishes. This is a powerful mod that will dramatically change your playing experience in Mirage.
look at the glyph: Convert portal and evaluation volume drops to other currencies.
wish for greed: Replaces the number of enemy packs in the area with Gilded enemies that convert equipment to gold.
wish for divinity: Gives you incredible powers such as invincibility within Mirage.
Each wish is pinned to one of Jin’s three powerful sigils: Sand, Fire, and Water. Depending on the Seal selected, monsters in the Mirage have a low chance of dropping one of the new currencies.
coin of knowledge
coin of power
skill coins
These coins can be used to corrupt skill gems at max level, granting random support gem effects that match the color of the coin.
Rewind your destiny and hasten your reward
Mirage is an “imperfect” copy of the area Jinn occupies, with the ability to copy almost anything as long as it’s within Jinn’s space.
Legion factions may appear in different forms than their original copies.
Different strongboxes may vary.
Enhanced mechanics with new perspectives and rewards customized for each mechanic
The Mirage version of Ultimatum gains dangerous mods like Nowhere and Quicksand, but rewards them with new Sinistral and Dextral catalysts to improve your jewelry by increasing the effectiveness of prefix or suffix mods.
-Mirage’s Cal Engage ore has a possibility of turning into Thaumaturgic Hourglass, and contains a large amount of Thaumaturgic Dust.
– Mirage’s Blight features lanes invaded by Afald and has the potential to reward a new base type, Code Belt.
■Repair the relic and take on the new end-game boss “Saresh the Black Mourning”
Afard also stole ancient Marakeh artifacts and distorted them into new, unique items that were corrupted. Players can obtain Repair Coins within the Mirage and, with Varashta’s help, can transform certain Afard uniques into their true Maraketh form.
Skysunder is a glorious Maraketh weapon that reflects fire back to its wielder and spreads fire damage to nearby monsters over a very large area.
Thwarting Afard’s plans may distract you from the new endgame boss Saresh, Weeping Black.
Destroy, mow down, and purify with new support
A new outlook requires a new set of skills and support. The new update expands build diversity by introducing multiple holy skills that rain down holy destruction, transformation skills, support, and more.
[New skill]
holy hammer: A continuous slam skill that brings down a hammer from heavenly justice. Spending a power charge gives you an additional hammer, increasing its destructive power against large packs of enemies.
holy sweep: Thoroughly revamp the traditional sweep skill. Converts physical damage into lightning, summons lightning strikes to enemies hit by sweeps, and crushes dense enemies with repeated impacts.
holy strike: Summons a floating holy stage that copies the stats of the player’s main hand weapon, and performs a Holy Strike attack with the player.
shield of light: A retaliatory skill that releases a cone of holy light after a block. Allies can also release additional cones, allowing for a coordinated burst of cleansing damage.
Divine Blast: Fires a beam from the shield to form an orb, which immediately explodes as an explosive wave of divine power.
[New support]
nimbus support: Generates a Sacred Wheel of Judgment that collapses during Rhywalk, repeating a rapid chain of explosive energy.
blessed call support: Enhances Warcry to the sacred consecrate engine.
hallo support: Hallow now supports attacks and grants a new debuff, Hallowing Flame. It is designed for a co-op/support playstyle and synergizes with allies and minions. This debuff can also appear from other elements, such as unique items, cluster jewels, and Guardian Ascendants.
[Transformation gem (example)]
This update also introduces completely new innovation gems, including variants for skills that didn’t exist before.
Shockwave totem of authority: The nova is chanted at the player’s position.
squall storm orb: Warps directly to the target when using lightning skills.
Balance adjustments have been made to the Bloodline class, and the Templar passive on the passive tree has also been expanded. Holy themed skills such as Static Strike, Holy Flame Totem, and Dominating Blow will all be improved, and underused Ascendancy classes, especially Guardian and Warden, will also be redesigned to further expand the Templar archetype.
■New Scion Ascendancy “Reliquarian”
Familiar to those who follow Legacy of Phrecia events, Reliquarians are scholars from the Orias Academy, who draw their power from the Valrelics spread throughout Reycrust. Players can choose unique-based passive abilities for their characters from three categories: Each has many options.
unique armor: Victario’s influence increases the level of all auras and greatly expands the area of effect. Alternatively, if you choose Kiloava’s Storm, there is a chance that it will hit you and give you considerable elemental resistance.
unique weapon: Widow Hail greatly increases the bonus you get from your quiver. Or Maata says that the critical chance of the minion’s attack will be equal to the value of the main hand weapon.
unique jewelry: Astral Candidate will cause Nova spells to be activated by the enemy instead of the character. Alternatively, if you choose Astramentis, all stats will be greatly increased.
Reliquarians, in contrast to any other Ascendancy class in the game, are characterized by a high degree of freedom in their builds. Its unique abilities change with each expansion and never remain fixed.
■New Atlas system and simplified endgame improvements
Building on Xana’s Actions Reshaping the Atlas and Path of Exile: War for the Atlas (3.1.0), endgame introduces major structural changes to address long-standing challenges and reduce work over time.
1. Maps will no longer be tied to specific areas
a. Instead of searching for “Plateau Maps”, players will now be able to find generic tier map items such as “Tier 10 Maps” and select layouts directly on the atlas.
b. Whether you like playing around one type of map over and over again, or you prefer a variety of content, both strategies will now be easier and you can instantly switch between them as needed.
c. Players start in the center of Atlas, with one of the four Voidstone slots in each corner.
d. All unique maps will now be displayed on the atlas, including old favorites. Players are not required to complete all unique maps, but will earn 1 Atlas skill point for each unique map completed, up to a maximum of 10 points.
2. Shaper Regions and Arcane Astrolabes
Egon’s new discovery, Arcane Astrolabes, allows players to draw Xana’s movements and manifest shaper regions throughout the Atlas. These regions affect multiple maps at the same time, increasing the exposure rate to content such as deep ocean regions and desolate regions.
Completing a Shaper region removes its influence from that map and strengthens the remaining maps within the region, making the mechanic more and more “palatable” over time. Completing the full Shaper Region will earn you powerful end-game rewards in one of the four Memory Vaults.
・Synthesised Stability, a new Atlas keystone, supports players who want to engage with the system while repeating a single map.
3. Revamped end game experience
a. Crafting the Cartographer’s Chisel and Map Device will be completely removed, and the loss in content and loot will be compensated for elsewhere.
b. Voidstones will now grant global bonuses when socketed. In addition, a new “Original Void Stone” has been added, which allows certain Atlas bosses to drop rare (exception) supports.
c. Map T17 has been removed, but its boss remains as a gateway to the Uber Pinnacle orbit.
d. Mods that are ineffective or stressful will be removed or removed, reducing the chance that skill usage will slow you down (like a slug) or prevent you from thinking about damage on a regular basis.
e. The Petal of Memory skill in the Originator has also been removed, and some effects can now be used from the Altars of Memory in the Memory Thread.
f. Memory Rifts now drop as itemized Memory Threads and are now tradable and storable.
g. Added new types of scarabs. For example, Expedition Scarab of Infusion can generate an attractive logbook, Anarchy Scarab of the Exceptional introduces a super-buffed Rogue Exile encounter, and Beyond Scarab of Resurgence spawns all three Beyond bosses at the same time.
Regarding Atlas Tree passives, some buffs have been made to nodes that were less effective.
Additionally, King’s March transport has been expanded with reward adjustments, swapping ore and crafting rewards, adding new ports, increasing favorable resource rewards, and allowing rerolls in gold. Ports now offer more targeted tattoo and runegraft rewards, and powerful newly discovered runegrafts are also introduced, such as the runegraft of Fury, which grants rage when using a lifeflask, and the runegraft, Resurgence, which allows Arcane Surge to also grant life regeneration.
Rare (Exception) Support: New system replacing Awakened Gems
With each incarnation punch of “Fear”, “Awe”, and “Ignore”, players will earn Originator Void Stones, and bosses throughout Atlas will be able to drop over 40 new rare (exceptional) support gems.
These are designed to replace the old Awakened support system, with all Exceptional supports not buffed by thin numbers and offering transformative gameplay effects.
Examples include:
Hextoad support (King in the Mist): Generates a swamp human rights area and spawns an exploding Chaos Stord.
Voidstorm Support (Uber Elder): A heavenly storm is formed from the raining attacks.
Frostmage support (Ignore incarnate): Support similar to Archmage. Cold damage scales with mana stacks.
More Exceptional support will be revealed at launch. For more information, please refer to the full patch notes below as they become available:

Keepers core, improved comfort
The Keepers of the Flame system is now core and replaces the old Breach mechanic. Players encounter Aerys and the Hiveborn from the muddy mudflats of Act 6, unlocking the Tree of Creation, which starts solidly and fully grown. This system includes full Atlas and Scarab support, as well as new Notables and Keystones, allowing for Breachhive-specific playstyles.
Although the Graft item has been removed, its power continues to grow Exceptional supports such as the Hiveborn support, which summons infant Breach minions, and the Foulgrasp support, which triggers the Breach Hand restriction effect when a brand is recalled.
In addition to these changes, there are also important comfort improvements. A Favorite Trade feature has been added to Currency Exchange, allowing you to access your Stash without leaving the UI open. Trade sales history is now available on hover with full item detail previews, and over 20 new campaign landmarks and optional reward encounters are also added. Look out for unexpected rooms, sideways, treasure chests, and encounters as you make your way through Reyklast!
