Singapore – Indonesian In the early morning hours of February 20, a fire broke out during the cruise to Singapore, resulting in the death of a crew member.

I’ve said that before MPA patrol boats, the Police Coast Guard and Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) marines were monitoring the ship while it was anchored at Raffles Reserve Anchorage. According to MPA’s online map, the anchorage is between Cenang Island and Semakau Island.
According to the MPA, the fire was extinguished shortly after. There were 388 crew members on board. Liberia registered shipnone of them are Singaporean.

The first group of 190 passengers were safely evacuated from the ship and disembarked at the Harbourfront Ferry Terminal, MPA said.
MPA said SCDF paramedics and emergency medical technicians were providing medical assistance at the scene, adding that evacuation of the remaining passengers was underway.
A “core” crew will remain on board the vessel to conduct safety inspections, carry out essential vessel operations, assist with investigations and ensure safe management of the vessel at berth, the MPA added.
The remaining crew will disembark in stages, the MPA said, adding that it has set up a safety zone around the vessel and issued navigational announcements advising them to stay away from passing vessels.
MPA said the bodies of the deceased crew members have been moved ashore and relevant authorities are conducting necessary follow-up observations. The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore was also notified.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
