Australian animated series Bluey has topped the US streaming charts, taking Nielsen’s most-watched title for the second year in a row.
Americans watched 45.2 billion minutes of Bluey, Bingo, and Bandit and Chilli, surpassing the 40.9 billion minutes spent watching the perennial fan-favorite medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
Thursday’s results come from the second annual Nielsen Arty (Ratings Television Entertainment of the Year) Awards, named after the television ratings service’s founder Arthur C. Nielsen.

The results come from Nielsen’s Streaming Insights, which revealed that viewers tune in to an estimated 16.7 trillion streaming minutes. That’s about 31.7 million years.
According to Nielsen, this is a 19% increase in streaming hours compared to 2024, making it the most streaming year on record.
Eight titles were selected for the ARTEY Awards, and Seth MacFarlane was named Streaming Icon of the Year, a newly introduced category.
“The ARTEY Awards gives us an opportunity to have a little more fun with the data category by recognizing how consumers engage with shows and movies,” said Brian Fuhrer, Nielsen’s senior vice president of product strategy.
“It’s especially interesting to track the evolution of streaming and the titles that drive it each year, and the strategies and successes our clients have with it.
“While some companies are predicted to win, there are always new entrants who surprise and capture the imagination of viewers. What is undeniable is the trajectory of streaming and the growing appetite for all types of content.”

Bluey’s win also surpassed that of cult favorite Stranger Things, which released its long-awaited fifth and final season late last year. Stranger Things was the third most streamed movie with 40 billion streams.

Seth MacFarlane’s victory was fueled by his roles in “Family Guy,” “American Dad!,” “The Naked Gun,” “Ted,” “Ted 2” and “A Million Ways to Die.”
“Seth MacFarlane is behind some of the most beloved and most-watched shows and movies on every platform,” said Brian Hughes, director of data communications at Nielsen.
“When it comes to streaming TV, people are taking their time to vote, and Seth’s prolific projects are clearly winning the votes.”
Mr. MacFarlane thanked Nielsen for the award.
“It is a great honor to receive the first award in show business, which is not determined by quality,” he said.
