NEW DELHI: The Special Inspector General of Delhi Police on Thursday arrested two men in connection with pro-Khalistan slogans found written at two places in the national capital ahead of Republic Day on January 26. The suspects have been identified as Baljinder, an ambulance driver, and his colleague Rohit alias Kirat.Police said the two men were suspected of being hired by Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Panun’s aides to carry out the act. Investigators said the scheme was hatched in Canada and the defendants were promised 200,000 rupees for desecrating public property with slogans.A senior police official said the alleged mastermind, a resident of Tilak Nagar in west Delhi, had traveled to Canada a few days before January 26 and remained in direct contact with Pannun while planning and executing the act.
