This Cisitalia 202 SC Berlinetta was sold at auction through RM Sotheby’s last year, reaching a maximum price of 500,000 euros (approximately $593,200), but was not sold.

This example is a right-hand drive model with a red leather interior.

The 1,089 cc inline four-cylinder engine produces approximately 70 horsepower.

The combination of a curb weight of less than 1,750 pounds, a slippery geometry, and a high-strength engine allows the 202 to accelerate to 165 miles per hour.

Although numbers are rough, Cisitalia is estimated to have only produced around 153 coupes and 17 convertibles, making up the 202 models.

The 202 was an artistic and aerodynamic triumph, but a commercial failure. This was primarily due to the high cost of manufacturing a complex hand-formed aluminum body on a lightweight tubular chassis.

Cisitalia 202 was built between 1947 and 1952.

When you look at the Cisitalia 202 in metal, you realize how small and jewel-like this car really is.
