Seahawks promote RB Verus Jones Jr. from practice squad for divisional round game against 49ers

Seahawks strengthen running back position Verus Jones Jr. He was called up from the practice squad on Saturday, adding running back depth for the divisional round playoff game against the 49ers.

Jones, who signed with the Seahawks earlier this season, appeared in three games during the regular season and had four rushes for 32 yards. He gives the Seahawks a third running back behind Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet, with George Holani still on injured reserve.

Jones, the Bears’ third-round pick in 2022, has appeared in 37 career games and two starts, totaling 24 carries for 197 yards and catching 12 passes for 135 yards.
