Director Kameyama:
As for Asami, I thought it would be good to have someone who has a solid voice and generally has that kind of voice.Kensho OnoIt’s nice to feel like“When I said something like,It was decided that he would play the role himself…
I actually heard about Robert, who plays Haga, during the tape audition for the short animation.

Mr. Komatsu has been the same as before, giving a wonderful performance every time.
Mr. Komatsu has been adding ad-libs since the series, and I think the live feel is really interesting, so I completely adopted those ad-libs and included them in the movie version.
Director Kameyama:
Asami is“A newcomer who doesn’t interact well enough to say no when we go out for drinks”I asked for something like this, and about the postage.“He’s considerate, but he gets angry easily.”I asked her to be a stereotypical character.
For the time being, the acting was exactly as I had imagined, but I couldn’t wait to see Ono-san’s improvisational and playful acting.
Asami was originally set up as a bland-looking character, but when I reinterpreted the character based on Ono-san’s acting,A newcomer with a bit of a psycho personality who is being made fun of because he is currently looking at the world with competitive eyes.I’ve updated it with some nuances.

──The new part that was released was short, but the contrast between Ryoko and Asami’s facial expressions was impressive. Among the cuts added to the theatrical version, do you have a favorite facial expression from the director?
Director Kameyama:
There are many scenes where Asami seems to ignore Ryoko’s comments, but Ono-san’s acting was more subdued than I expected.
Just, justI like the first one because it’s not too easy to understand.It was fun to be able to continue working for a long time, adding delicate nuances to match the character’s facial expressions.
I don’t see it that often in videos, but this is how it looks in real life, rather than the stereotypical expressions that look like anime.I think it was possible to express a crime like that.
Ryoko’s facial expressions took more time… or rather, Komatsu-san’s acting is quite playful and there are some funny parts, so I worked hard to create playful facial expressions to match that.
Director Kameyama:
Oh, Haga has a mustache, and I really like the angry faces of people with mustaches (lol).
The ideal facial expression of an angry man with a mustacheI’m happy that it was created.
──So, Asami seems to be quite calm while Ryoko is panicking. Is that correct as Asami’s expression is always relatively flat?
Director Kameyama:
I think Asami is basically a person who wants to stay calm all the time, but because Ryoko is so outrageous, she usually looks a little tired.
──I would like to give you an idea of the content of the new parts, but could you imagine that the newly created parts for the movie version are scenes that were not included in the main story of the Milsub series and were cut?
Director Kameyama:
Rather than thinking about it at first, it was prepared as a scene to connect between episodes when connecting the stories that already existed in the movie version.
Therefore, there was no initial idea, but just in caseWhen I was creating a new character for a new part, the background expanded and disappeared.There are places like that.
As for the story that I came up with today, the background is becoming more and more decided as the story progresses…well, I’m deciding on it now.
──This time we are going to delve deeper into Ryoko, so could you please tell us a little bit about it?
Director Kameyama:
In this new part,“In the Submil series, what was Ryoko doing while the other characters were on the train?”That part is depicted.
I was working surprisingly hard.I’m making this because I hope it gets the message across.
Now, let’s talk about the timeline of the Milsub series, and Ryoko’s background isn’t too bad. I don’t think that’s the part that’s portrayed in the movie.
──I think Ryoko is a character who has a more important position than reflecting on the characters who appeared or handing over key items, but what does Ryoko herself think about other characters such as Chiharu and Makina?
Director Kameyama:

After watching the anime actually air and distribute and see its reputation rise, I felt that the story conveyed a sense of reality.
However,When the movie version was decided, there wasn’t much recognition.Or, I used to be someone who would go to the movies, but lately I’ve been forgetting how to go to the movies, and there’s a part of me that has low resolution for the theater…
Now that the movie version has been decided, I decided to go see one movie.“Demon slayer”I went to see it.
Not only was the work great, but the images and scenes experienced in the theater space were also really good, and I thought, “This has to be content that I can really enjoy watching in the theater.”
–Did you find anything useful for yourself as a director after watching the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” movie?
Director Kameyama:
The thing that impressed me the most when I watched “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” was Tanjiro’s monologue scene, and there was some amazing background music playing.
The song is good, and he speaks in a very straightforward manner.A very heart-warming scene“I don’t know if I can do this, but I want to do it,” I thought to myself.
Also, regarding the video, there is one thing I’ve always wanted to do in relation to BGM…Perhaps Milsub doesn’t do that.
So, I really wanted to do that for this new part, so I had some new BGM made. This time, we took a little more time with the animation, so the quality of the character’s movements may have been slightly better.
As for the character’s movements, this time we paid particular attention to the details.Even when you are simply having a conversation, try to increase your body language and other movements, and be conscious of increasing the movement of your upper half.I’m doing it.

Director Kameyama:
In “Milsub”, it’s extremely difficult to advance the story…if you’re worried,“You have to combine 12 small dishes into one proper dish.”It was a similar task.
However, when it comes to the movie version, it seems like the title of each episode is used to make people laugh.From now on, you won’t be able to use all of the production for each episode, so I’ll use the tempo that captures the middle part.You don’t have to think about it.
There have been 12 episodes so far, and I have to make it so that it doesn’t feel strange when viewed as a single episode, so it’s a lot of work.
…It’s tiring (lol).
──As the 12 episodes have continued, I think you have looked back at past scenes, but between the current scenes and new scenes, is there a favorite scene that left an impression on the director?
Director Kameyama:
In that scene, the cart“Exclusion-kun”It was fun to create the scene depicting it, and I was happy to see that it was well-received when I saw the reactions on social media.
Gonzo production with that kind of sound is interesting, and I would like to continue to create more scenes that I like.
Director Kameyama:
Since it’s a new part, I really enjoyed making Haga’s animation. There’s a great amount of passion in his voice, so it’s a lot of fun to match the characters and move forward.
Right now, there’s a scene where Haga and Ryoko seem to be arguing, and I’m really excited because the two of them acted with so much passion and idealistic acting.
──Would you like to ask about the current situation (as of November 2025)?
Director Kameyama:
It ended up sounding a bit weak, butThe most difficult part of making a video is the moment when you have to move on to the next task, even though you know you can be more particular about it, in order to keep to the schedule.That’s right.
So, I thought, “I have some free time this time, so I’ll make it until I’m satisfied!”I can’t decide anymoreSo…I’ll think about how far I can go.
Ah, I’m the worst at finding staff…I started without doing that at all this time, so there’s a sense that I’m creating new parts completely by myself.
──Director Kameyama has previously been praised for wanting to create things by himself like a manga artist, but since he continues to do so this time too, are you recruiting?
Director Kameyama:
I agree.
After all, if you protect your freedom as a creator, you’ll end up doing it with a small number of people…but…It’s not good for the pace of releasing new works into the world to be slow, so it’s time to reconsider the production environment and staff.I feel it is coming.
I’m still quite an amateur when it comes to creating a site, so I’d like to do my best.
