Kerr was previously diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2022.

After her diagnosis last year, Kerr realized her condition had been caught early.

“I’ve fought this fight before and I’m really confident I can fight it again,” Kerr said at the time.

She continued to serve as Deputy Premier of New South Wales during her absence.
