“I’m so excited to jump in here and let you all know that I’m going back to work tomorrow and starting the new school year,” Kerr said in a video she shared on Facebook.
“Thank you so much to everyone who supported me during the really difficult seven or eight months of my breast cancer journey.”
Ms Kerr thanked the medical team and staff at Sydney’s Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Cancer Center.
She added that her husband Brad, son, co-workers and community provided tremendous support during her treatment.
“This experience of surviving breast cancer has certainly changed me in many ways,” Kerr said.
“What hasn’t changed is my unwavering commitment to serving the people of New South Wales.
“I can’t wait to get back to work serving the people of New South Wales.
Kerr was previously diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2022.
After her diagnosis last year, Kerr realized her condition had been caught early.
“I’ve fought this fight before and I’m really confident I can fight it again,” Kerr said at the time.
She continued to serve as Deputy Premier of New South Wales during her absence.
