Seplat Energy Plc has announced that its ANOH Gas Project, a 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) midstream gas processing plant in Imo State, has started supplying gas.
“Following the completion of the 11km Indrama Gas Export Pipeline and receiving regulatory approval from the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) commenced gas supplies to Indrama on Friday, January 16, 2026,” the company said in a regulatory statement on Tuesday.
Seplat said it accomplished the feat “under a robust and interruptible gas sales agreement,” adding that four upstream wells, which had been on standby since November 2025 to facilitate the flow of gas, were brought online.
AGPC is said to be one of Nigeria’s most strategic gas projects and is expected to support the country’s transition to cleaner and cheaper fuels, including natural gas for power generation. According to information on the company’s website, the joint venture is owned by the Nigerian government (57.5%), Seplat (20%), Shell (15%), Total Energies (5%) and Agip (2.5%).
The integrated plant consists of two 150 mmscfd gas processing units, a liquefied petroleum gas recovery unit, a condensate stabilization unit, a 16MW power plant and other auxiliary facilities.
According to Seplat, condensate production at AGPC has reached 2.0 to 2.5 kboepd, and this level is expected to increase further as gas production increases to design capacity.

Arrangements have been made to begin selling processed gas to Nigeria NLG through an offtake agreement structured on an interruptible basis, which will enable the gas plant to further scale up production towards full operation.
The development of the OB3 pipeline export route by the Nigeria Gas Infrastructure Company, which was initially planned as the main channel for the supply of ANOH gas to the local market, has resumed and a revised completion date is expected to be announced, the statement said.
“ANOH will provide Seplat with a material source of income, reduce its carbon intensity and contribute significantly to the 2030 production target of 200 kboepd set in the recent CMD,” said Seplat CEO Roger Brown.
“It will also increase energy access for Nigerians, both in terms of electricity and clean cooking fuels for local communities, while advancing the fulfillment of our mission of supporting Nigeria’s economic prosperity,” he added.
