After announcing it for the Indian market, Volkswagen has just officially launched its new flagship SUV Tyrone R-Line for India. This is the first three-row SUV introduced by VW in India after the end of production of the Tiguan Allspace. Only one fully loaded R-Line trim will be available. We aim to combine sophistication and sporty look in one package.
When it comes to pricing; Volkswagen Tyrone R Line Priced at Rs 46.99 lakh (Ex-sh), this is the introductory price for this flagship SUV. Seven monotone colors are available: Nightshade Blue Metallic, Ultra Violet Metallic, Oryx White Mother of Pearl Effect, Granadilla Black Metallic, Oyster Silver Metallic, Dolphin Gray Metallic, and Cipressino Green Metallic.
Volkswagen Tyrone R Line released
The Tayron R Line is positioned as the company’s flagship product in India and will compete with the likes of Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. The Tyrone R-Line will be launched in the country through the CKD route and assembly work will be done at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility in Maharashtra.
Once a China-only nameplate, the Tyrone is now positioned as the successor to the Tiguan Allspace. The 2026 Volkswagen Tyrone measures 4,792 mm in length, 1,866 mm in width, 1,665 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 4,792 mm. It’s like a long wheelbase version of the Tiguan.
The exterior design is typical VW with the new IQ design language. Notable features include smart adaptive IQ HD Matrix headlights, 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels, strong shoulder lines, dynamic character lines on the sides, connected LED tail lights and connected LED DRLs with illuminated VW logos front and rear, and welcome lights.

The tailgate is powered and the trunk capacity is expandable to 1,905L. Inside, the VW Tayron R Line is equipped with special Ergo Active front seats with 12-way power adjustment, cooling and heating, eight massage functions and three memory settings. It also has contrasting purple highlights to create a pop visual.
Other notable features include a sliding and reclining second-row seat, panoramic sunroof, rear sunshade, versatile third-row seat, three-zone climate control, abundant ambient lighting, a 15-inch freestanding infotainment screen, full digital cockpit, augmented reality HUD, 700W Harman Kardon speakers, nine standard airbags, and Level 2 ADAS with 14 autonomous functions.
Powering the Volkswagen Tyrone R-Line is the 2.0L four-cylinder turbo-petrol EVO4 engine that also powers the Golf R and Tiguan R-Line. This engine has a maximum power output of 204 PS and a maximum torque of 320 Nm and is mated to a 7-speed DSG. The Tayron R Line can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds. The 4Motion AWD system, Driving Profile, and Park Assist Plus are also notable features.
