Jaylen Brown returns to Los Angeles as Boston Celtics take on Lakers in NBA game

– Jaylen Brown will reconsider his complicated relationship with the Los Angeles area during the nationally televised game between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers on February 22nd (February 23rd Singapore time).

In early January, when Brown tied his National Basketball Association career high, the Celtics were playing across town against the Los Angeles Clippers.

He returned on Feb. 15 to compete in the All-Star Game, but that visit was ruined when the Beverly Hills Police Department canceled a panel event for his performance brand, “741.”

The Beverly Hills city manager later apologized for police overreach following contradictory statements about police actions, but the damage was done.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Brown display some aggression in another game in Los Angeles.

“No one else in Beverly Hills seemed to have a problem except me, so tell me how I should feel about that,” Brown said, noting that his event took place on All-Star Saturday at 7 p.m.

He returned to California with a bang on February 19th.

Boston defeated the Golden State Warriors 121-110 to open a four-game Western Conference series. Brown recorded 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists, achieving his third triple-double of the season.

After the win, he said, “I wasn’t thinking about the match.” “I was disgusted. I was still disgusted.”

For Golden State, Peyton Pritchard led the Celtics with 26 points off the bench, and Sam Hauser had 16 points. Boston shot 51.6 percent from the floor and held the Warriors to 44.8 percent. Golden State didn’t have Stephen Curry.

The Lakers defeated the Clippers 125-122 at home on February 20, with Luka Doncic scoring 38 points in 38 minutes in his official return from a hamstring injury. Austin Reeves scored 29 points and LeBron James had 13 points and 11 assists.

This was just the 11th game Los Angeles’ star trio played together this season. Doncic missed the four games leading up to the All-Star break due to injury and played just five minutes in the All-Star Game.

“Our offense was good in the first half. We made some shots,” Lakers head coach JJ Reddick said after his team shot 84.2 percent in the first quarter and 66.7 percent in the first half.

“I thought the extra passes, the execution, the way we took up space with our early offense and shared the basketball, no mess, no egos, just making plays.”

James suffered pain in his left knee during training on February 19, and his participation was in doubt.

“If you’re going to play, you’ve got to make something happen,” he said. “I have to be productive and do what I can for the team.”

The Feb. 22 matchup will conclude the two-game season series. On December 5th, the Celtics defeated the Lakers 126-105 at home. Brown led the Celtics with 30 points, and Reeves scored 36 points for the Lakers.

James sat out the game in Boston on the second night of the back-to-back to rest while Doncic was out giving birth.

Meanwhile, in an NBA game on February 21, New York’s Jalen Brunson scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, and the Knicks erased an 18-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Houston Rockets 108-106 at Madison Square Garden.

They bounced back from a humiliating loss to the Detroit Pistons with a gutsy win to return to a tie for third place in the East.

“We just found a way,” Branson said. “I just kept chipping away at it. I got a few stops, made some shots and got there.”

Elsewhere, the NBA Eastern Conference leader Pistons defeated the struggling Bulls 126-110 in Chicago for their fifth consecutive win.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs continued to put pressure on the West Division leader Oklahoma City Thunder with eight straight wins. They defeated the shaken Sacramento Kings 139-122. Reuters, AFP
