Morocco represents 740 local farmers, majority of them women, at the 62nd Paris International Agricultural Expo

Agadir – Morocco participates in the 62nd International Agricultural Salon (International Agricultural Show) in Paris held Held from February 21st to March 1st, it is one of the most prestigious agricultural gatherings in the world.

The Morocco Pavilion was officially inaugurated on Sunday by Agriculture Minister Ahmed El Bouari. The ministry, together with the Agricultural Development Authority (ADA), oversees the participation of North African countries. El-Bouali was accompanied by Morocco’s ambassador to France, Samira Siteir.

A total of 30 producer groups from Morocco are participating, representing 46 cooperatives and over 740 smallholders, 61% of whom are rural women.

Themed “Morocco, Flavors of the Centuries”, the pavilion offers visitors an immersive journey into the country’s diverse agricultural heritage.

Morocco is Special feature Products such as argan oil, taglioin saffron, medjool dates, olive oil, carob, spices, aromatic and medicinal plants. Most of the country’s major regions are on full display, demonstrating the geographic and cultural diversity that shapes Moroccan agriculture.

Hosting the Expo for the 13th consecutive year, Morocco has the opportunity to promote its agricultural products on the international stage, with a focus on strengthening marketing capabilities and increasing access to foreign markets.

This platform serves as a huge opportunity for smallholder farmers, especially women-led cooperatives, to bring their products to the world stage. The country’s participation is in line with the national Green Generation 2020-2030 strategy, which aims to create a new agricultural middle class, strengthen rural incomes and improve the international standing of Moroccan products.

El Bouari and Citeil on the sidelines of the Paris Expo held a meeting The meeting focused on deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation with France’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Annie Genevard.

Both sides praised the strength of relations between Morocco and France, especially after the signing of a framework agreement covering agriculture and forestry in 2024 and several sector-specific administrative arrangements. Ministers expressed their shared commitment to accelerate the operational implementation of the joint roadmap.

Currently, the main areas of cooperation between the two countries include livestock breeding, agricultural training, sanitary and phytosanitary standards, water resource management in a changing climate, and strengthening cooperation between specialized agricultural organizations in both countries.

The International Agricultural Show is France’s largest agricultural event and one of the most important worldwide. The show brings together farmers, producers, policy makers, researchers, industry experts, and consumers.

Crop production and food products around the world are a major focus every year, along with agricultural innovation and sustainable farming practices.

In 2025, the exhibition attracted more than 600,000 visitors, reflecting its large scale and international reach.
