Annie Wong: Transforming melanoma and cancer treatment through the 2026 Lee Prize

The first award was peter mac Ten years ago, in response to the historic gender imbalance in senior positions in health sciences and science, the Lee Medal was designed to raise the profile of early- to mid-career researchers who identify as women at critical stages in their careers.

Dr. Deborah Meylan Going forward, we will advance research into immunotherapy for childhood cancers, strengthen international collaboration, and deepen our understanding of how the immune system interacts with childhood tumors.

Associate Professor Safera Hussaini will conduct research focused on improving the sexual health management of people affected by cancer, translating the results into practical outcomes such as training and future service development.

Dr. Aparna Rao In the future, we plan to use advanced imaging to study how cancer and immune cells use energy in melanoma and discover new targets for future treatments.

We salute these outstanding researchers whose innovative research and leadership continue to advance advances in cancer research and treatment.
