All schools in Nova Scotia are closed starting today as heavy snow and high winds batter the province.

The municipality has announced that Tuesday’s curbside collection of solid waste will be rescheduled to Saturday, February 28th.
Some flights have been canceled at Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The airport said operations are continuing, but flights are still affected by the storm. Passengers are asked to check their flight status before coming to the airport.
Saint Mary’s University, Mount Saint Vincent University and Dalhousie University’s Halifax Truro campus delayed opening until 10 a.m., St. Francis Xavier University delayed opening until 11 a.m. and Acadia University delayed opening until 12 p.m.
The storm was expected to dump 15 to 25 centimeters of rain across the state, with totals expected to exceed 40 centimeters in the southwestern part of the state.
Winds are also expected to be between 60km/h and 80km/h, reaching 90km/h in exposed areas. Strong winds caused snow to blow and dance, reducing visibility.
