Pakistan’s opening pitcher Sahibzada Farhan on Monday provided support to his team’s underperforming batting line-up in the T20 World Cup Super Eights here as they step up to face England.

“Our batting has collapsed. The bowling has been good, especially the spinners. But we have to think about our batting because if you look at T20 cricket, the top three or four should be able to score more runs. We haven’t been able to do that.”

“Sometimes the top builds a good partnership and sometimes the middle order builds a good partnership. T20 is a team that doesn’t depend on one person. It’s a team game and I think everyone should take responsibility,” Farhan said.

Farhan scored 220 runs in four innings, becoming the highest scorer in the tournament. Against England, Farhan is likely to be tested up front by Jofra Archer. But the 29-year-old is ready for the challenge.

“It’s not a big deal to play against Archer. We have played against him before. We have good wickets locally and we also have bowlers who can bowl at 145 kmph. He must have planned how he would bowl against me. But I have also planned. Hopefully we can have a good match,” Farhan said.
