Annie Weisman will remain in business with Apple TV. Just before the premiere of imperfect womenhis upcoming series adaptation of Araminta Hall’s novel, Weisman has signed a multi-year first-look deal with the streaming network. According to the pact, Weisman will have a first look at the series he develops for the platform.
Weisman most recently created for television imperfect womenand serves as showrunner and executive producer. Directed by Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington and Kate Mara, the eight-episode series examines a crime that shatters the lives of three women’s decades-long friendship. This unconventional thriller explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation progresses, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem, according to the logline.
imperfect women will make its global debut on March 18 on Apple TV.
Weisman is best known as the creator, executive producer and showrunner of the Emmy-nominated Apple TV series. Physical, starring Rose Byrne. Throughout its three seasons, Physical was praised for its vulnerable and accurate depiction of eating disorders. Before imperfect women, Weisman served as showrunner and executive producer for the second season of Peacock’s dark comedy thriller. Based on a true story starring Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina.
Prior to her collaboration with Apple, Weisman was at UTV General where she was an executive producer on almost family which she created and directed at Fox, as well as co-executive producer at Hulu The Way.
