My Creighton vs. Providence prediction puts the Flyers as just a 1.5-point underdog, and I think they’re getting too much credit from the oddsmakers ahead of their home game against the Blue Jays.

Best bet for Clayton vs. Providence: Clayton Moneyline (-115)
The Providence Friars currently lead the Big East in scoring with 88.7 points per game, ranking them within the top 40 in the country, so they have some appeal for bettors.
However, Providence boasts the worst scoring defense in the conference, allowing 85.1 points per game. No other team has cleared 78 points. They may also be without leading scorer Jason Edwards (foot).
The Creighton Blue Jays have won six of their last eight games, including an 86-83 OT thriller win last time out against Georgetown.
The Blue Jays sit atop the Big East, ahead of only UConn, Villanova and St. John’s. Creighton lost to both Gonzaga and Iowa State and has played only two ranked teams, but the magazine said it played the 13th toughest team on its schedule. Kenpom.
The Blue Jays rank in the top six in the Big East in both scoring and defense. After going 1-7-0 against the spread in their last eight games against Providence, Creighton has won two straight and covered both.

Austin Swartz is playing his best ball this year. The Miami transfer scored a season-high 33 points in the win over Georgetown.
He has been the team’s leading scorer in three of the last four games and has scored at least 18 points in four of the last six games.
Jaylin Sellers led the team in scoring with 24 points in the last game against Villanova, but this was the first time in five games he had over 16 points.

Jacen Green’s rebound numbers have fallen off a cliff, pulling down just two boards in the last two games. Expect his performance to remain at a low level Friday after playing just 21 minutes, his lowest total since the first two games of the year.
