The state of Tennessee has declared January 19, 2026 as Dolly Parton Day. In a proclamation, Gov. Bill Lee said the musician’s “extraordinary life and career has brought pride to Tennessee,” highlighting her philanthropic work through the Dollywood Foundation and Imagination Library.
“Dolly Parton’s generosity, humility and dedication to improving the lives of others embody the values of the Volunteer Nation and are an inspiration to Tennesseans and people around the world,” Lee added.
Dolly Parton Day is set to coincide with the musician’s 80th birthday on Monday. Check out Parton’s 2023 cover story again here.
