Casemiro: Manchester United’s Brazilian midfielder set to leave club this summer

manchester united Midfielder Casemiro has announced that he will leave the club at the end of this season when his contract expires.

The 33-year-old joined from Real Madrid in 2022 for £70m and made 146 appearances.

Manchester United finished third in the Premier League in his first year in charge, and he scored the opening goal in the 2023 Carabao Cup final against Newcastle.

But he was named last year by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who said some players were “not good enough” and “overpaid”.

The Brazil international said: “I will carry Manchester United for the rest of my life.

“Now is not the time to say goodbye, we have many more memories to make over the next four months.

“We still have a lot of work to do together and, as always, I remain fully focused on doing everything I can to help the club succeed.”
