It’s well worth completing the route and hatching the eggs. Completing a route will earn you 3x XP, and placing an egg in an incubator during an event will hatch it in half the distance. As an added incentive to hatch, Diglett, Larvitar, Bagon, Deino, and Yungus will hatch from 7 km eggs.

Get the most out of your Into the Depths Pokémon GO event with research, including field research and paid timed research. Trainers who complete the event-themed field research will receive an encounter with the event-themed Pokémon. Paid timed research is available for $1.99 USD (or local currency equivalent). Completing this research will earn you rewards such as two incubators, an event-themed Pokémon encounter, and more. Additionally, trainers who purchase Time Research Tickets will be able to earn double the amount of candy when hatching Pokémon from eggs. Timed research must be completed and rewarded by 8:00 PM local time on February 1, 2026.
