In October 2025, it was announced that Pan American World Airlines would be reinstated as a commercial aviation brand, reviving the golden age of air travel. You might be wondering what’s the big deal about that, but the fact is that the Pan Am brand is a staple of Americana. It reminds us of a time when air travel was exciting and magical, and the world started to feel much smaller. Pan Am was first created nearly 70 years ago and has a rich history spanning several decades. A surprising and essential connection with watchestoo. To celebrate, Christopher Ward has partnered with the newly reformed Pan American World Airways to create the new C60, which seeks to express its timeless aviation spirit in its most ambitious form.

Christopher Ward’s C60 platform has received a lot of attention over the past year or so. Diverse styles, colorful finishes One of the brand’s best-sellers, cutting-edge materials and materials. This new C60 Clipper uses a medium-sized C60 stainless steel case with a diameter of 42mm and a thickness of 12.45mm. That sounds like quite a chunk, but the 49.3mm lug-to-lug dimension keeps the proportions low, and the oversized polished bevels on each side give the illusion that the case is thinner than it actually is. This means the overall profile is thinner, without the slab-sided look that sports watches of this style tend to have.

Considering the Clipper’s high reputation, the sports watch style matches the sports watch functionality. 300 meters water resistance. One of the most distinctive aspects of the Clipper’s case is its bi-directional rotating bezel. Finished in blue anodized aluminum, it enables the instant world timer function and also neatly hides the Pan Am details.

Each of the 24 clicks corresponds to 24 cities highlighted in Pam Am font on the bezel, each represented by an IATA airport code, representing 24 significant locations in Pan Am’s history, such as Key West, Florida (EYW -5). It is specially highlighted in red to mark the location of Pan Am’s first flight in 1927. It is also the location of Dallas, Texas (DAL -6), a popular Pan Am flight that operated flights to London and Frankfurt, and the location of the first Christopher Ward showroom in the United States.

The dial of the C60 Clipper is finished in eggshell white, typical of pilot’s watches of the period, creating a striking contrast with the bright blue details elsewhere. Rehabilitation includes 24 hours GMT ringshown in traditional GMT colors. It is red during the day and blue at night. I don’t know if I can call this “Pepsi” (In fact, red and blue are Pan Am’s corporate colors.) But there’s something about these two colors that makes them look great on a watch, no matter what watch you’re wearing.

The dial details are superbly finished, as you’d expect from Christopher Ward, with the gorgeously polished hour markers and hands finished in Super-LumiNova grade X1 BL ‘Old Radium’ luminous, giving it a vintage feel. These details are also highlighted by other Pan Am touches, such as the bright blue Pan Am logo at the 6 position and the CW Trident seconds hand counterbalance, which is replaced by the blue Pan Am Clipper airplane from which the watch takes its name.

The power source of the clipper is Sellita SW330-2 Automatic GMT movement that is also installed in models such as. C63 Sealander Extreme. it is True GMT movementwhich results in quick settings You can easily change the date and GMT hand. local time during the trip. As a member of the SW300 family, this caliber is robust and reliable, offering a power reserve of 56 hours at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Timing tolerance is also excellent, at +/- 20 seconds per day. The movement resides beneath a well-engraved caseback that is embossed with the iconic Pan Am “Blue Meatball” logo and each watch’s number up to 707, a nod to the famous Boeing company with the same number.

Finally, the watch is mounted on a brushed stainless steel Vader bracelet, a sturdy 3-link sports product from Christopher Ward, complete with a quick-release spring bar. It is easily replaced with a complementary woven strap made from the same material as the seat belts on Pan Am planes and is very sleek. All of these come packaged in custom Pan Am packaging along with custom printed cleaning cloths and blue Pan Am sleeves.
