The “Manchild” singer and multiple nominee went for a softer, more understated style than we’ve come to expect from her. It’s borderline tweed and looks like something worn in the 80’s (which is definitely not a negative). I love the little sheer cape. I don’t like tiered skirts with too many frills because they look like bedspreads.

Zara Larsson’s German
The “Midnight Sun” singer and Best Dance-Pop Recording nominee opted for a look with a more tropical vibe than what we’re used to seeing on the red carpet. To be honest, it looks a little tacky to us, but that gold really suits her and like we said in the intro, you should adjust your expectations here. She looks hot. The skirt is really beautiful. She also resembles a hostess at a tropical-themed resort bar, so there’s that.

saint laurent rosé
Look, everyone dreams of a dress with pockets, but sometimes it’s too much. The “APT” singer and Song of the Year nominee looked super cute in a little black dress. Apparently she had to leave some laundry on the way? Sorry, these saddlebags are too out of proportion to the rest of the design. It’s a shame because it still works when scaled down by about 50%.
REI AMI wears Guvanch, EJAE wears Dior, Audrey Nuna wears Thom Browne
of KPop Demon Hunter The Song of the Year nomination for Vocal Star, the “Golden” singer, also known as HUNTR/X, stood out because each member of the group was given room to interpret the moment in their own way, but it still felt like the sum of its parts was in harmony. REI AMI wore fantasy fashion by Korean designer Guvanch. EJAE went as classic as Dior. And Audrey Noona turned to Thom Browne to give him a weird, glitchy look that made his eyes pop.

The “Undressed” singer and Best Newcomer nominee upholds his long musical tradition as a handsome man while mastering the little mirror ball action. What we love about this suit, besides the sparkle, is the touch of red throughout the sequins. You can’t go wrong with Valentino’s silver lace shirt, but let’s be honest, he was made for this look. I love that keyhole. My love for shoes fades.
Mugler’s Chapel Lawn
Nominated for Best Pop Solo for “The Subway,” she chose to keep things simple this time without sacrificing her signature quirkiness or attention-grabbing ability. This is Chappell’s minimalism. I wasn’t crazy about this at first glance because the design seemed basic and the dress matched her hair, but the longer I looked at it, the more I liked how dramatic it was. It works best when worn with a cape, but I think it should have a few more inches at the hem.

Bad Bunny by Schiaparelli Couture
He’s about to electrify half of America during the Super Bowl halftime show and will be the first man to wear Schiaparelli Couture. I have no choice but to faint. It might seem surprising to see the “DtMF” singer and multiple Grammy Award winner wearing a relatively run-of-the-mill velvet tuxedo, but we gasped out loud when we saw her corseted back. Come on, it’s hot.
Billie Eilish in Hodakova
We’ve always loved the quiet rebellion of Billie Eilish’s public style, the way she defies convention and upends expectations for young female pop stars. But the “Wildflower” singer and Song of the Year winner seems overwhelmed by everything going on with this look. I get that this is mostly a deconstruction of menswear style tropes, but there are too many sleeves and belts in one look.

Chanel’s Olivia Dean
The “Man I Need” singer and Best New Artist winner should have been an easy winner as she went for classic elegance in her Chanel dress, but the design disappointed her. The skirt is too low and the feather decorations are not well placed at the waist. The bodice looks like a bodysuit, but it won’t work well with a ballgown style skirt. Basically, the top and bottom of this design don’t interact with each other.
vivienne westwood pink pantherless
The “Illegal” singer and Best Dance-Pop Recording nominee explored deconstructed elegance. The design is a little over-made and may need some editing, but the colors look gorgeous on her and the styling really elevates it.

Kelsea Ballerini in Etro
The “Emerald City” singer, nominated for Best Contemporary Country Album, observed the old standbys of award show fashion. It’s never a bad idea to dress like a trophy yourself. This richly embellished gold dress looks very beautiful on her. The fit is smooth so she won’t look overwhelmed or heavy. Smooth hair was a good choice as well. I love the paisley design, it’s incredibly flattering yet gives it a vaguely bohemian vibe.
Lady Gaga’s Matiere Fécaret
The ladies came to provide a little black swan mayhem on the red carpet. We all know there’s going to be some drama when Lady Gaga is on the guest list, but we’re kind of pleasantly surprised at how low-key this one is — for Lady Gaga, of course. This would be outrageous to most other people. She looks gorgeous and delivers some of the most classic diva fashion moments we’ve ever seen.

Miu Miu’s Laufey
The lavender eyeshadow that goes with the lavender dress makes her look like a little fashion doll, which is a shame. The Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album winner opted for a pastel glow, and we just can’t get enough of the design. The neckline is too wide and the bust doesn’t fit her perfectly. The placement of the decorations is oddly distracting. There are so many things in this dress that it feels like they are placed haphazardly.
Roberto Cavalli’s Doechie
Bad news for the “Anxiety” singer and Record of the Year nominee. It could be your custom Roberto Cavalli, but I’m afraid it kind of sucks. The colors are flashy. There is too much purple satin for one person to handle. I don’t mind that the bust is showing, but the sheerness of it looks very wrong with the rest of the dress. The name of the game often seems to be outrageous, but this is ugly dress.

It looks like something you’d see hanging in your shower stall. Sure, we tend to loathe the feathery gowns that keep popping up, but this one is just too much. It’s a mountain. It’s… Muppet-ish. I might like it if it had a little shape or contrast, but it’s big and shapeless.
Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s cat eye
The “Gabriella” singer and Best New Artist nominees have routinely coordinated their looks around flawless girl group style, so it makes sense to see this series of designs together. It’s impressive to see matching white lace dresses lined up on the red carpet, which doesn’t seem like a bridal dress. Unfortunately, that white lace looks a little garish to our eyes. The sparkly dresses look a little better, but when seen as a group, they look like lingerie models…not very high-end brands.

Paolo Sebastian’s Harry Bailey
We keep coming back to this piece for its quiet elegance, something not often seen on the Grammys red carpet. I love the combination of sparkle and glitter and the dramatic corset silhouette. Perhaps a little too embellished for our tastes, but her poise and style are perfect, so it doesn’t matter.
Miley Cyrus wearing Celine
We don’t know which is weirder, the insane amount of stuff and flair she wears all over her jacket, or the ’90s office manager pants and slingback she wears underneath. It looks very strange. Best Pop Vocal Album nominees have always had a nostalgic, quirky style, but this honestly looks like an outfit fit for a 70-year-old.

Tom Ford’s Teyana Taylor
of Battles continue one after another The star and currently nominated for Best Supporting Actress arrived late to the red carpet, but that’s no surprise since she was clearly there to get it done. No one works harder for the Oscars than this woman, and no one puts their bodies on the red carpet as wonderfully and fiercely as she does. This is fashion on the highest possible difficulty setting and she makes it look easy.
Justin Bieber in Balenciaga and Hailey Bieber in Alaia
The “Daisies” singer and multiple nominee showed up wearing a pared-back, grown-up minimalism that looked great on him. The loose fit is perfect for him, but we would have preferred a less slinky shoe. Hailey, on the other hand, makes her minimalism look like a million bucks. The coordinated jewelry is casual and wonderful. They look confident, relaxed, and sophisticated.
