The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released longtime kicker Brett Rouser.
The 35-year-old averaged 72.2 per cent on 39-of-54 field goal attempts in 2025, his worst mark in his eight-year tenure with Saskatchewan. His average field goal attempt distance is 36.5 yards, one yard longer than the league average.
Lowther also converted a league-worst 91.2 percent in the fourth quarter of the Gray Cup game against Montreal, missing a 39-yard field goal.
The Truro, New South Wales native has played 118 regular season games in eight CFL seasons, almost all of them with the Roughriders. He completed 81.4 percent of his field goal attempts, 93.3 percent of his converted attempts, and five punts for a net average of 22.4 yards.
Originally out of St. Mary’s University, Lowther was a seventh-round pick by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2013 CFL Draft.
