The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) on Monday directed all candidates registered on the One Time Registration (OTR) system to mandatorily update and verify their data.

All future notifications, applications, results and final selection will be based on candidates’ unique OTR data, the European Commission said. According to it, about 31.65 million candidates are registered in its data system.

The commission noted that the compulsory updating of these details was in view of recent changes in Scheduled Caste classification and educational background of candidates.

“This initiative is part of the Commission’s efforts to ensure speedy completion of the recruitment process, early declaration of results and timely issuance of appointment orders and avoid delays caused by data discrepancies and incomplete documentation,” it said.

The process of updating the OTR must include uploading the candidate’s personal, educational and category details, verification and accuracy of all qualifications and additional qualifications, and all relevant certificates including a recent color passport size photograph.

The last day to complete this mandatory exercise was February 2nd, but it has now been extended to February 25th.

As a general rule, each candidate only has one OTR, which remains valid until canceled by the candidate or the committee for any reason.

It also cautioned that not all existing data is editable and candidates can only add to and enhance their data by uploading additional qualifications, changes in correspondence address and correspondence, EWS status, and details related to categories.

Candidates should take extreme care while uploading and editing data as the updated OTR will be treated as primary and final data and will be considered in all future notifications, the committee said.
