British number one Emma Laducane claimed her first win since withdrawing early from the Australian Open and then splitting with coach Francis Roig.
The 23-year-old dominated Belgium’s Greet Minen 6-0, 6-4 at the Winners Open in Romania.
Raducanu, the tournament’s top seed, unloaded three aces and was forced to break serve four times in 70 minutes of play.
She will next face Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan on Wednesday in the second round of the WTA 250 event.
The 2021 US Open champion was eliminated in the second round of the Australian Open last month with a disappointing 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 loss to Anastasia Potapova.
His partnership with Spanish coach Roig was subsequently dissolved, leaving Raducanu looking for a coach for the 10th time in his career.
Meanwhile, fellow Briton Sonai Kartal booked her place in the last 16 of the Abu Dhabi Open with a 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) win over Spain’s Cristina Bussa.
She will next face top seed Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) on Wednesday.
