A child has been hospitalized after being hit by a bus while riding a bicycle in Auckland.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Te Atatu Rd about 6.30pm on Wednesday.

Police said officers responded to reports of a collision between a car and a bicycle on Te Atatu Peninsula, and Hato Hone St John dispatched an ambulance and a paramedic unit.

A St. John’s spokesperson said one patient was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
