F1 superstar Max Verstappen has an open invitation to crack hot laps with his next new track weapon mercedes amg.
Development of the next AMG GT3 racer has moved into Top Gear, with a test program scheduled for next month at the Portimão circuit in southern Portugal.
A racer with a V8 engine was recently revealed Mercedes AMG GT The 63 PRO is priced from $418,900 in Australia and will be delivered later this year. By then, Mercedes-AMG has packed a test program that could include track time for Verstappen.
Christoph Sargemuller, global head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, said: “If he is interested, I would be happy.” wheel.
“Of course, it depends on his contract situation.”
He is referring to Ford’s links in F1 with Red Bull Racing and a new deal starting this year. In the past, when the Red Bull racer was linked to Honda, there was also no drama of Verstappen racing Ferrari in a GT3 sports car and establishing a personal team to race in an AMG GT3 car in 2026.
Four-time champion Verstappen has already completed laps in his current car, but Serge Muller said he would not have any opinion on the successor to the car that recently won the Bathurst 12 Hours.

“It’s going to be a great car. Development is in full swing,” Sagemuller said. “I would say we’re on schedule, and that’s important. We did our first rollout last August. We did a two-day test and it went very well.”
“There is still a lot of work to do. The beauty of the current car will make the development of a successor even more difficult. The main goal is to take the car to an even higher level. To be fair, this is quite a challenge. Everyone is very interested in the next car. There is already a high demand for the new car.”
The new AMG GT3 was scheduled to race this year, but Serge Muller admitted there had been some delays.
“We wanted to make sure we had the right concept and put the car in the right window, so it took longer than we originally expected,” he said.
Mercedes-AMG has become a behemoth for the German luxury car brand, and is currently expanding further in a vacant lot at its headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany. Sergemuller revealed that he is AMG employee number 800 and that the number of employees is estimated to be more than 3,000 in the future.
“This is a very big business. We have over 100 active racing teams. We have 48 race weekends a year. Everything we do in racing is linked to AMG.”

“We’re in motorsport for a lot of different reasons. F1 is one of the most powerful branding tools we have, but when it comes to GT sport and customer racing, that’s when we’re getting closer to a real road car product. This is very close to what you can buy on the street.”
Sargemuller emphasized AMG’s efforts to hone its three-pointed star through its road car and racing programs.
“We can leverage the power of the mothership and the power of AMG. We are like a ‘speedboat’, which is a big cruise ship. The importance of AMG to the whole Mercedes brand is huge.”
“I run it as a profit center. That was always the goal. The program has grown so much in that time that we have more freedom.”
