This is a warmer, more light-hearted Westerosi story, which attracted a lot of attention at its premiere (notably because that poop scene). Episode 2 has more explicit moments, but that’s not the only reason some fans are unhappy.
‘Knights of the Seven Kingdoms’ fans complain about runtime

Those who read the novella joined in to defend the show, pointing out: “Knight of the Hedge” It’s not a long story. However, many viewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to release each episode weekly.

“Yeah, I wish it was longer. Even if it’s just chilling dunks with eggs,” another agreed, while yet another added, “Literally just finished episode 2 and I’m not itching. One more week? Fml.”
“I literally came here to say this. I know it’s short, but come on, season 2 has been confirmed. That’s greedy.”
Some, including this one, wish the creators had chosen a different format: “It would be better if they made three 60-minute episodes or made it into a feature film and had a good writer add content that doesn’t feel unnecessarily drawn out.”
Another said, “I’d rather have one season of hour-long episodes than two seasons of 30-minute episodes. And in the context of fewer months in the subscription, that part doesn’t really matter to me. Just in terms of content, I think it’s better not to dilute it too much.”
“I wish there were three episodes, but I understand that. HBO The business model brings that out. I love what I see, but it’s hard to immerse yourself in the world when it’s short,” added a third.
“In House of the Dragon, the characters felt more real. These characters are just as interesting and fleshed out, but it still feels like a TV show.”
However, not everyone agrees with this criticism. “The original story is 85 pages long. I promise shorter episodes are better at telling the story,” one person pointed out.
“I’m getting tired of this complaint. Damn it. They’re making something that’s actually good, with great acting and a good script that’s faithful to the source material, but everyone becomes a crybaby when the time comes… when the source material is small. If you don’t know the book and the source material, don’t watch it,” a second voice was heard saying.
Showrunner destroys Ser Erlan scene in episode 2
HBOThe conversation also sparked plenty of penis jokes after Sir Arlan of Pennytree’s (Danny Webb) Full Frontal scene in Episode 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
In response to the mention of the episode being short, one fan joked, “Not like Sir Arlan’s Spear…” and another joked, “As short as Arlan’s dick is long.”
Showrunner Ira Parker subsequently spoke out about the scene, saying that she could not recall whether Webb was wearing a prosthetic leg during filming.
“Was that a prosthetic leg? I forget,” Parker said. entertainment weekly. “I thought he just showed up on set, but maybe he had a prosthetic leg.”
The showrunner continued, “At one point I felt sorry for Sir Arlan. He was the only person who ever cared about dunking and really stuck with dunking.
“And he died on a muddy road in the middle of nowhere, buried without ceremony. And now Dunk walks around looking for those who remember him: the people he served, the people he bled for, the knights, the lords.”
“They don’t even remember his name. I felt like I needed to give him one special thing. I guess it’s to give him a little bit of Boogie Nights.”
