Raiders sign veteran wide receiver to $35 million contract in free agency

The Las Vegas Raiders have expanded their room for wide receivers.

According ESPN’s Adam SchefterThe Raiders are signing former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor to a three-year, $35 million contract.

Nailor’s contract with the Raiders includes $24 million guaranteed.

“The Raiders have agreed to terms with WR Jalen Nailor for three years and $35 million, including $23 million guaranteed,” Schefter reported.

Nailor, a former sixth-round pick of the Vikings, has surpassed the 400-yard mark in each of the last two seasons. While not great, it’s fair to point out that he was in a crowded receivers room behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

The feeling in league circles is that Nailor is much better than his production would indicate and his best days are ahead of him if he can get more looks.

He should get those looks in Las Vegas, as the Raiders don’t have much in their wide receiver room. The jury is still out on Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton, and Tre Tucker is the most established player in the room.

This shouldn’t be the Raiders’ final move at wide receiver, as they still need more help for promising franchise quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

We may see another signing in free agency, and we’d expect Las Vegas to use one of their many draft picks on a wide receiver as well.
