7 overs: Australia 61-0 (Voll 48, Mooney 13)
Arundhati Reddy will play her first over tonight following her strong performance on Sunday. Vol found the boundary from the first ball and with some speedy and smart running they took two off the next ball. She hands Strike to Moony, who is content to play a supporting role for now and returns it to Vol. Arundhati lost his line and length but Voru absolutely smashed another one to the boundary. She looks even better tonight.
6 overs: Australia 48-0 (Voll 36, Mooney 12)
Kranti bowls three consecutive overs but Vol quickly finds boundaries with her. The Vols didn’t always look confident or in control tonight, but they certainly looked determined and are really pushing for a strong score here tonight. Moony sees Strike for the first time in a while. She waited patiently on the non-striker side for a few overs. She seemed to get a little nervous while waiting and had a few plays and mistakes and a near edge to the keeper that slipped all the way to the boundary. The power play is now over!
5 overs: Australia 35-0 (Voll 27, Mooney 8)
Amanjot Kaur joined the team for the first time in this series and bowled his first over. Vol first missed a length and flicked it into the air, but it fell well short of field. The next ball was right in her zone and she happily rammed it four upfield, only to be led and almost caught and bowled. This was followed by four powerful straight drives. In this over, it’s as if he became a different player for every two balls.
4 overs: Australia 26-0 (Voll 18, Mooney 8)
Kranti comes back in the second over, but her first ball is a good one, full straight, and Mooney can only defend it. Mooney tries to hit the second pitch more aggressively with a straight drive, but is unable to beat it. She finds one next ball to release some of the pressure, but it was some good bowling from Kranti. Vol managed to avoid a full ball and pulled it to the boundary for four, but Kranti tightened the line with a great comeback ball.
3 overs: Australia 20-0 (Voll 13, Mooney 7)
As soon as Renuka resumes, Vol finds his first boundary of the night, opening the face of the bat and driving it for four to the boundary. The next ball she missed up the middle, but the ball went over the field and fell safely, sending Mooney back for a strike. She got into the fun and went down the pitch to meet the ball and drove it past long-off for four. On the next ball, she aggressively takes the ball, but a fielder on the boundary restricts her to a single. The Vols toy around the field again, but raise it high enough to score two and it’s a great over for Australia.
2 overs: Australia 8-0 (Voll 6, Mooney 2)
Kranti starts the first over with a lead of two against Vol, gets an edge but falls safely and Vol runs away for one. Mooney continues his momentum with his next single, but finding the edge as an opener is still not easy. The Vols got one up the field for the first two of the game and finished the over with a single.
1 over: Australia 3-0 (Voll 2, Mooney 1)
Renuka Singh led us and Vol quickly rotated the strike and found a single off the mark. Mooney plays the first ball very carefully, showing the entire face of his bat and defending it back to the bowler before hitting a single with a flashier drive to deep point. The Vols rotated their strikes again and Mooney finished carefully to give Renuka a strong first over.
The team is currently on the field and ready to go.
If you missed the game on Sunday due to the rain and want a quick catch up before it starts, you can find the live blog of the game here.
Australia will obviously want to field an unchanged squad for this game and give the team a chance to bounce back from last night’s shortened game. India made one change, bringing in Amanjot Kaur in place of Shreyanka Patil. However, Fox’s commentary team lists Patil in the lineup unchanged, so there could be some confusion here. We’ll show you the teams listed by Cricket Australia and update you if we notice any changes.

Hello. Welcome to the second T20 of the series, the second match of Australia’s ‘Sophie Molyneux era’. You may remember that the new captain’s first match didn’t go well (although swimming was certainly an option after the match was suspended due to heavy rain).
Australia were unable to form partnerships, lost wickets with alarming regularity, totals fell well short of par and they failed to hit an over. As a result, India were able to easily take the lead over DLS Par before the rain set in, earning them their first win in the series.
In contrast, the weather in our capital today is bright and rainless, so both teams will need to be prepared to play a full game. For India, it’s not just about keeping the momentum going – the bowling and fielding on Sunday was excellent – but it’s also about getting time to bat a full innings and see how many totals they can rack up.
Australia will be looking to bounce back and will certainly be able to do so despite a long line-up of batsmen who were uncharacteristically low-scoring on Sunday.
Whatever happens, it’s definitely going to be a cracker of a match, so let’s go for it!
