Bowers & Wilkins’ top 700 series bookshelf speakers get a new luxury finish, incorporating some of the components from the 705 S3 Signature, and arrive at the 707 Prestige Edition.
Billed as “the ultimate Bowers & Wilkins bookshelf speaker,” the new 707 model has a special Santos gloss finish created using 12 layers of paint and lacquer, taking inspiration from the Santos rosewood finish of the 805 D3 Prestige Edition.
The base 707 S3 is a two-way speaker with a rear-firing bass port and curved baffles. It already uses a 25mm carbon dome tweeter and 13cm continuous cone midbass driver, and these carry over to the Prestige Edition.
The new model adds the 705 S3 Signature’s “carefully optimized” tweeter grille mesh and upgraded speaker terminals, which Bowers & Wilkins says help deliver “even more refined and spacious sound than the standard model.” The speaker also comes with a new “unique identification logo plate” that highlights the new model.
How much does it cost? Well, the 707 Prestige Edition costs £1550 / €1750, which is a slight increase compared to the standard 707 S3, which launched in September 2022 for £1300 / €1500. Need a stand? Bowers & Wilkins offers an optional black or silver FS-700 floor stand.
