Jaylen Brown, Josh Giddy, Tre Jones, etc.

After three straight wins, the Chicago Bulls are back to .500 (22 wins, 22 losses). However, they will be facing a team that has struggled the past few seasons, the Boston Celtics. Chicago is just 1-7 against Boston over the past three years and is 0-1 this season after losing 115-101 earlier this month.

Guidi returns, Jones absent

However, neither Josh Guidi nor Coby White were in the lineup for the Bulls’ game against the Celtics on January 5th. Guidi was recovering from a hamstring strain, while White was sidelined with a lingering calf strain. But almost three weeks later, both guards are available and ready to play against Boston.

However, since the return of Guidi and White, Chicago’s guard rotation has taken another hit. Standout reserve point guard Tre Jones has been sidelined with a hamstring strain. at least for the next two weeks. Jones joins Zach Collins on injured reserve, who has yet to play a game in 2026. Collins hasn’t played since Dec. 27 and is expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break with a first toe sprain.

Celtics almost perfect

Meanwhile, Boston will be without reserve forward Josh Minott, who was sidelined with an ankle sprain. Minot appeared in just one game in January. Meanwhile, manager Joe Mazzula has decided to prioritize 3-point marksman Sam Hauser as the starting wing alongside Jaylen Brown.

Speaking of Brown, the four-time All-Star is listed on the injury report as a possible candidate for selection due to left hamstring tightness. Brown has missed just three games this season, so don’t expect him to be kept out of the Celtics lineup simply because he’s tough.
