Local authorities in Catalonia blame the wall collapse on heavy rains after months of drought.
Meanwhile, another train derailed on Barcelona’s commuter network on Tuesday.
“The axle was hit by a rock thrown off by the storm,” Spanish rail network operator Adif said in a statement.
The train was traveling between Blanes and Macane Masanes, northeast of Barcelona, and was reportedly carrying around 10 passengers.
According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, around 400,000 commuters are expected to be affected as a result of the suspension of services across Catalonia’s Rodalies network.
