We wait outside the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center for updates from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s closed-door deposition.

Republican lawmakers on the committee said they would appear hourly to share what they learned and insisted today’s deposition was not a political stunt.

But is it?

Meanwhile, Democrats worked with Republicans to threaten the Clintons with contempt of Congress if they did not attend. But today, Democrats on the committee stressed that there is no indication that Hillary Clinton had any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and that President Trump, who is far more named in Epstein’s file, should also answer questions under oath.

One of the Democrats speaking here, James Walkinshaw, denounced today’s deposition as a political exercise and part of a long-held fever dream to lock up the Clintons.

Democrats are now betting that setting this example with the Clintons will actually increase pressure on President Trump.

No doubt the public will be scrutinizing the Clintons’ responses and their credibility.
