“We can never allow that first goal.”Published at 17:37 GMT
FT: Burnley 2-2 Tottenham
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank told BBC Match of the Day: “The first half was very good except for the last shot.
“It was a game where we took control, created chances and scored goals. We should have scored the second goal and that would have put us out of sight.
“There’s no way we could have conceded that goal just before half-time.
“The second half was a little more back-and-forth and we didn’t really get going. I don’t think we dealt with that spell enough.”
“Then we concede another bad goal. We can never concede. We shouldn’t be that open.
“Then we finished strong with a strong character with a lot of attacking subs and scored the equalizer. We had three or four very big chances and we converted one of them.”
“This game we produced a lot and did more than enough to win the game. We just didn’t defend well enough in two situations.
“Today we created a lot of chances, which sometimes caused problems. Today we were able to do that. We usually defended very well, but those two goals are something we can’t afford.”
On the performance of Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka: “He made some great saves and played a great game. I commend him.”
On whether he can focus on the returning character: “It’s very important to focus on the start of the game and the first half was really good. We came here and created chances on top of that and could have scored 1-0.”
“Then it’s important to focus on how strong you finished with that character in order to keep fighting. But you have to improve the bits in the middle.”
About pressure: “I know, but I can’t say we didn’t do everything to win. We just need to keep improving. The only way we can do that is to stay calm and keep doing what we think is right.”
“You can see it in today’s game. We did more than enough to win the game. We just need to defend better in the two situations and, of course, score another goal that could make the difference at 1-0.”
