Capcom faces an uphill battle to prevent Resident Evil Requiem’s ending spoiler and video leaked online

Resident Evil Requiem has been completely leaked online, and a video showing off the game’s finale and major spoilers is currently circulating the internet.

Earlier this week, IGN reported that early physical copies are now in circulation and that spoilers are inevitable. Days later, details of the game’s plot, villains, major deaths, and ending mechanics have been released all over the place, and there’s little sign that Capcom can stem the tide.

Reddit lists a long thread in which the plot is revealed beat by beat, including links to off-screen images and even long footage clips that leave no doubt that the spoilers are real. There are mentions of unreleased characters, various lore connections, and yes, the mechanics and details of the game’s ending.

The main r/ResidentEvilRequiem reddit is completely dominated by spoilers, with 17 of the top 20 posts discussing leaks and already unrevealed plot details being turned into memes.

However, this isn’t particularly surprising considering the high expectations surrounding the release of Resident Evil: Requiem. As pointed out by biohazard leaker Dusk Golem I wrote On X/Twitter yesterday:

“Bio 9 started leaking 10 days after release, which is really good for the series. Bio 4 and Bio 8 leaked 14 days later, Bio 16 days later, and RE7 leaked until release. It was almost a month ago. People wonder, ‘How could they have leaked it a full 10 days before release?’ and here I’m all like, ‘Hmm, Capcom was better than usual this time. Good for them.’

There’s only one week left until Resident Evil: Requiem’s February 27th release date. IGN tries to avoid spoilers as much as possible.

“Having played Resident Evil 9: Requiem for a total of about four hours now, and sharing the experience with my colleagues, I’m more excited about the series than I’ve been in recent memory,” IGN wrote after experiencing Resident Evil 9: Requiem recently. “It’s a mix of old and new, but it’s all in a modern package, and it has two main characters, which I already really like.”
