An East Sussex town whose last bank branch is set to close is in need of alternative banking facilities, the city’s councilor and mayor says.
Lloyds Bank will follow Barclays and Santander in closing its Crowborough branch in June, leaving its nearest bank in Tunbridge Wells, about eight miles away.
Sussex Weald MP Nusrat Ghani promised to work with Crowborough Mayor Natalie Whittle to “secure alternative walk-in facilities”.
A spokesperson for Lloyds confirmed the closure and said the bank offered “more options and ways to manage your money than ever before”.
