Australia vs. India: Georgia Vol Century Seals Series won by Alyssa Healy in her final charge

Georgia Vol scored his second international century as Australia defeated India by five wickets in the second ODI and won the series with a game remaining.

The 22-year-old top-scored with 101 runs off 82 balls, including 13 fours and one six, despite being helped by India’s dismal fielding.

She was dropped by Kranti Gaud on 19 and Smriti Mandhana on 53, but wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh fumbled and broke through for a single on 99.

Vol and Phoebe Litchfield smashed 80 off 62 and, after captain Alyssa Healy was bowled by Kashvi Gautam for six, the Aussies trailed by 252, scoring 119 runs to claim the second wicket.

She added another 82 (67) alongside Beth Mooney, becoming Gautam’s second victim in the 31st over.

After Deepti Sharma replaced Mooney and Annabelle Sutherland, Ash Gardner scored Australia’s victory with 83 balls to spare, sealing the series victory in Healy’s last time at the helm before his retirement.

Earlier, Pratika Rawal (52 for 81) enjoyed a 78-run opening stand with Mandhana but India faltered at 103-4 for four wickets in 7.4 overs.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored an anchor 54 (70) at No.4 and helped India to 251-9.

Gardner, Sutherland and Alana King each took two wickets.
