image source, PA mediaHeavy rain stopped in south-west England and south Wales, followed by a few showers. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued an amber rain warning for the area. as we reportedlifted at 09:00 GMT.
All other yellow rain warnings in place across southern England and Wales are due to be lifted by midday today.
Further north, precipitation meets colder air and falls as snow on the highlands at the northern end of the system.

It was very windy this morning and the rain and wind are expected to continue into the afternoon.
The Amber Wind Alert, which has been in place for all of Northern Ireland, is expected to be lifted at around 9pm.
After midday today, rain with snow on the hills will be confined to Scotland and the north-east of England, while most parts of the UK will experience bright to sunny spells with heavy showers.
Strong winds will continue, with the strongest gusts in the west, along the Irish Sea coast and around Northern Ireland.
