D-backs and Cardinals move closer to Nolan Arenado trade

11:28am: Steve Gilbert of MLB.com report A trade that would send Arenado to Arizona is “close.” Wu and colleague Ken Rosenthal added: Arenado has agreed to waive his no-trade clause.

The Cardinals are embarking on a rebuild under new president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom, and trading the 34-year-old Arenado (who will turn 35 in April) is their biggest goal this offseason.
