It is with deep sadness that we announce that Daniel John Meade, 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Arlington, Texas, on Friday, January 9, 2026, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Dan was born March 14, 1946 at Pasadena Hospital in Pasadena, Texas to Deward Hiram Mead and Mary “Louise” Locke. Dan lived a life marked by faith, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. Dan was a proud graduate of Southeast High School in Cherokee, Kansas (1964). After graduation, Dan enlisted in the Air Force and was discharged in August 1968. On August 31, 1968, Dan married the love of his life, Lois Maxwell Meade. Dan attended Pittsburgh State University (formerly known as Kansas State University) and graduated in the spring of 1971 with a degree in accounting. Dan first got a job at an oil company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. From there, Dan moved his family to Sherman, Texas while working as an auditor for the IRS and SEC. After completing his CPA exam, he moved to Arlington, Texas and worked for small businesses before opening his own practice in 1980 and retiring in December 2021. Dan also served in the National Guard and Air Force Reserve. Mr. and Mrs. Meese created a loving and nurturing family with Lois. Their 57 years of marriage were a testament to the strength of their bond and dedication to each other. Dan and Lois raised two daughters, Mylora and Dana, and shared the joys of family life.
