You’ve probably heard the name Kensington in connection with laptops. The brand is probably best known for the slot lock mechanism that most laptops have.

However, this brand doesn’t just make locks. Kensington makes docking stations, privacy screens, fingerprint scanners, and other peripherals.

DCC Technologies, a local ICT distributor, announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Kensington. This makes DCC Technologies the third authorized distributor of Kensington products in South Africa and the SADC region.

Kensington tablets are still popular, but not because they are more effective. Bolt cutters or heavy-duty wire cutters can be used to quickly cut the looped cable that is inserted into the lock. However, this solution acts as a deterrent to opportunistic theft.
