Todd Meadows, Discovery Channel Deckman worst preydied at the age of 25.
Meadows was crabbing in the Bering Sea on the Aleutian Lady, one of the ships filmed on the long-running show, when he died on February 25, but the cause of his death is unclear.
Captain Rick Shelford, who has been on the show since season 19, called Meadow’s death “the most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady.”
Deadline understands that worst prey At the time of the incident, Aleutian Islands was in production for season 22, and the Aleutian Lady, led by Shelford and his crew, was one of the ships captured for the show. I heard that production has since ended. When the accident occurred, the show was at the end of its production cycle, and “Aleutian Islands” was the last ship of season 22 still at sea.
The show is produced by Fremantle-owned Original Productions. Executive producers for Season 21 include Brian Lovett, Jeff Hassler, Alom Starr-Paul, and Tom Beers, along with co-executive producers Joseph Boyle, Bill Howard, Johnny Beachler, and Will Gatlin from Warner Bros. Discovery, who was recently promoted to head of content at Discovery Channel.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Todd Meadows. This is a devastating loss and our hearts are with his loved ones, his crew and the entire fishing community at this incredibly difficult time,” a Discovery Channel spokesperson said.
Meadows was the newest member of the Aleutian Islands’ female crew. “His love of fishing and his strong work ethic quickly earned everyone’s respect. His smile was contagious and his laugh, heard across the wheelhouse steps and deck calls, is something we will always carry with us,” Shelford said.
Meadows has a wife and three children.
Aleutian Islands safety causes unscripted drama worst prey in front.
In Season 19, Sean Dwyer, who was previously the captain of the ship Brenna A, was scheduled to become co-captain of the Aleutian Lady along with Shelford.
“I feel like this is a mess and I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea to take off,” he said in episode 3 (see clip below). “To be honest, I feel like some corners are being cut and I’m worried.
Mr Shelford replied: “There is no safety issue at all.” Dwyer left before the ship departed.
