Kick-off is scheduled for 8:30pm Kazakhstan time at Astana Arena.
This match will be Kairat’s last home game of the current European campaign. The Almaty-based team has not played in the domestic league since late October, with the team solely focused on Champions League matches. Club Brugge arrives in Astana in active competition and will continue the domestic championship alongside the European matches.
The Belgian club has already landed in the Kazakh capital, greeting Kazakh fans on social media with the message: “Salem, Astana!” The visitors also pointed to the long journey and cold conditions: “5,926 kilometers” and “-24 kilometers.”
Khairat chose to host the final two home matches of the Champions League in Astana due to the stadium’s roof and heating system. Their last match at the Astana Arena was a 1-0 loss to Olympiakos.
Club Brugge currently have four points and remain in the race for a play-off spot. In the last Champions League, they lost to Arsenal 0:3. Kairat will play away against an English club in the final round of the league.
Earlier, Kazinform news agency reported that FC Kairat forward Dastan Satpayev will miss the team’s home match against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League due to injury.
