During the preseason, Carlos Alcaraz overhauled his serve and adopted a grip similar to Novak Djokovic’s.

At a press conference on Friday, the world No. 1, seeking his first Australian Open title, was moved by the similarities to the Serb’s serve.

“I didn’t copy Djokovic’s serve.”

“You were probably saying it looked a lot like Djokovic’s, right? (to reporters). I knew it… (lol). Seriously, I don’t know. I think everyone needs to make changes and tweak details.

For me, it’s something I really want to improve on my serve. I put a lot of effort into my serve every year and every tournament.

I feel more comfortable with this, just by relaxing my movements a little.[…] I didn’t try to copy Djokovic’s serve (lol). Of course, I can see the similarities. ”
