World Curling said it followed official procedures after complaints about double-touching Stone during Friday’s men’s curling match between Canada and Sweden. The match, in which Canada’s Brad Jacobs defeated Sweden’s Niklas Edin 8-6, received a lot of attention after profanity was broadcast from a player’s microphone.

World Curling said the umpires received complaints about Stone’s second touch during the delivery. Afterward, officials spoke with both teams and placed an umpire on the hog line to monitor the third-end delivery, but found no violations or corrections by Stone.

As the players removed the stones after the ninth end, Canadian substitute Mark Kennedy was furious at Sweden’s Oskar Eriksson’s accusation that some Canadian players had touched the stones a second time after letting go of their handles during the match. Video of Kennedy dropping the F-bomb on Erickson has since spread online.

The Canadian men were scheduled to return to the ice Saturday afternoon to face Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller.
