Jets 5-4 Islanders (January 13, 2026) Game Summary

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Adam Lowry and Kyle Connor each had one goal and one assist and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the New York Islanders 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Winnipeg won its third straight game with Dylan DeMelo, Jonathan Toews and Josh Morrissey also scoring. Connor Hellebuyck finished with 23 saves.

Kyle McClain, Emil Heineman, Anthony Duclair and Matthew Schaefer scored for the Islanders, who were 6-3-1 in their past 10 games. Ilya Sorokin finished with 17 saves.

With 7:37 left in the second period, DeMelo made a screen shot from the blue line to give the Jets a 4-3 lead.

Lowry deflected Neal Pionk’s point shot and past Sorokin for a two-point lead with 20 seconds left in the half.

Schafer scored with 46 seconds left in the third, and the goalie pulled, bringing the Islanders within one point.

Connor scored the opening goal 4:20 into the game. After Alex Iafallo deflected Scheifele’s shot from center point, Conner pounced on the rebound and swung it past Sorokin.

Morrissey increased the lead to 2-0 with a shot through traffic at the 5:41 mark of his second goal.

Just 42 seconds later, Toews scored on a power play after Gabe Vilardi’s shot pass and Sorokin’s rebound for a three-point lead.

The Islanders then scored three points in 2:41 to tie the score midway through the period.

New York got on the scoreboard at 7:40 when Duclair converted a backward pass from Anders Lee’s corner. Heineman then converted a penalty shot to bring the Isles within one point at 8:58. With 9:39 left, McLean tied the game from the front after receiving a pass from Casey Cizikas.
