Spoiler alert!!!
Warning: Contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapters 19-20.
Return of Yuji Kojo Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo It came like a cold gust of wind. The sequel manga is accelerating towards its finale as the do-or-die duel between Yuka Okkotsu and Dabura Karaba unfolds, and Yuuji’s reappearance in Chapter 19 changes the tone from hopeful to quiet tragic.
Confirmed to be alive decades after the original series and proven to not age, Yuji arrives not as a savior but as a lone force with new, stricter codes. He slays the cursed spirits that spill out from Tokyo, but he doesn’t take sides in conflicts between humans. And only if the Otsukotsu brothers and sisters fail, they will “clean up after themselves.” Chapter 20 reveals his choices, which leave fans with the image of an aging protagonist standing alone, carrying his losses like an armor.

drama that will happen soon Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo The focus is on Yuka’s Gambit. Yuka, who has acquired the Tokage-ryu, summons the legendary Mahoraga and hides in its shadow, forcing Dabura to perform an exorcism ritual as the two forces collide. This conflict causes a massive cursed energy fallout, enacting a lesser curse and drawing the sorcerers, Simurians (alien antagonists), and civilians into the chaos around the duel venue.
Meanwhile, Tsurugi Okotsu fights desperately against Cross to protect her sister. This is a parallel struggle, highlighting how personal this conflict is for both families and nations. Yuuji’s appearance in Chapter 19 was the moment that many fans had been waiting for. He appears in the duel and displays power beyond his years. But Chapter 20 takes away the easy gratification from such fanservice.
Instead of siding with the humans against the Simurians, Yuji does not explicitly take Yuka’s side, but instead declares that he will defeat both the Simurians and the human magicians who are in his way, and only deal with the curse leaking out of Tokyo. Additionally, he states that “old soldiers” usually fade away rather than die, which feels like he is hinting that the older version of himself has faded away, and as he says in chapter 20, pages 8-9, the current Yuuji is no longer interested in saving the world (via media visualization):
“They say old soldiers don’t die, they just fade away… but this is the best, isn’t it, Sensei?”
When the sorcerer confronts him, a brief but chilling exchange reveals his indifference. He refuses to follow anyone’s flag and is unmoved by appeals to old loyalties. His “Piercing Blood” technique, introduced in this chapter, cuts through friend and foe alike, a physical manifestation of the new moral insensitivity he brings to the battlefield.
did Decades of loneliness turn Yuuji into a ruthless guardian.?

modulo This changes over decades of loss. Unlike other characters who have aged and died, Yuuji does not change as he cannot physically age. It is also important to remember modulo 68 years later, Select gameshe was around 17-18 years old (it takes a few years). So his age would be around 85-86 years old. Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. But time has stopped for him and he still looks like an 18-year-old.
Decades of watching his friends and students grow old and disappear have hardened him. Gojo once dreamed of a future where everyone lived in a world where children were not forced into war by the Jujutsu Association, but the world has become more chaotic and cruel. in moduloYuuji has no intention of helping anyone, and the happy, optimistic child inside him has long since died, just like his teacher.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo began with hints that old favorites would return and that Yuji’s presence could tip the scales against the Simurians. Instead, Akutami’s sequel features a protagonist who outlives his loved ones and imposes harsher judgment on the world. Not as a hero, but as its ruthless protector.

where modulo Next is the question on everyone’s lips. The duel between Mahoraga and Dabura is still unresolved, and Yuji’s motives are only partially revealed, so the next chapter will show where the series is currently pursuing. It remains to be seen whether Yuuji’s ruthless realism will crack, or whether he will become an unstoppable and fair arbiter in Akutami’s world.
