Now in its 6th year, Ohms x Kanon Chasing the contrast invited a South African photographer peel off the photo I use black and white to capture the light, textures, and quiet moments that make up everyday life. From street and coastal landscapes to intimate details that are often overlooked, the competition challenged participants to find beauty without the distraction of color.
Needless to say, the response has been amazing, offering a collection of images celebrating South African cities, heritage and different views of the South African landscape, all brought back to its most honest form.
Below, we introduce the overall winners and top 20 finalists who caught the attention of the judges with their strong composition, emotional expression, and storytelling. Their photographs now take center stage as part of an impressive outdoor exhibition here and along the iconic Sea Point Promenade, transforming the familiar coastline into an outdoor gallery worth lingering over.
